MURFREESBORO, TENNESSEE-  Christiana Elementary School’s (CES) Camp Wildcat has entered the Farmers Insurance $2,500 grant proposal contest, and needs votes from the public.

The proceeds will benefit the school’s summer Read To Be Ready camp, “Camp Wildcat.”

Camp Wildcat will utilize research-based literacy strategies aligned with Tennessee’s Read to be Ready initiative by incorporating read aloud and building content rich text sets into authentic instruction.

Students will partner with experienced educators in setting individual goals and discuss their progress through conferences. Camp Wildcat will engage families as partners by providing research based games for students from Florida’s Center for Reading Research. Students will create family packets at camp to use at home. Engaged in exciting and meaningful activities, families will see that learning can occur at both school and home.

Vote daily throughout March to help Christiana Elementary School win $2,500 for their proposal. Cast your vote but remember that you can only vote for the same proposal once per day.  Visit https://www.farmers.com/thank-americas-teachers/vote-for-a-teacher/vote-for-a-proposal-form/ to vote today.
