A remembrance ceremony will be held in the city of La Vergne to honor Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. It is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 16 in the City Hall Board Room.
Guest speakers for the ceremony include Mayor Dennis Waldron, Alderman Calvin Jones, La Vergne Middle School Principal Mr. Carey Holman, and Ms. Mary Wade.
“I am proud to honor Dr. King because he is an important part of American history. My hope is that we have a big attendance to remember the life of an American hero,” said Mayor Dennis Waldron.
The ceremony is free and open to the public
