SMYRNA, Tennessee—Students from Stewarts Creek High School’s production program will work with the Town of Smyrna’s media services personnel to broadcast Christmas @Home live on Stewarts Creek TV and multiple Town of Smyrna platforms.  Christmas @Home, presented by Carpe Artista, is a virtual holiday concert featuring local musicians.

Town of Smyrna Manager Brian D. Hercules understands the value of workforce development and creating opportunities within the town to provide real-world experience for students.  “Chris Bissinger (SCHS video production instructor) shares our philosophy and seeks out opportunities that bring value to his students and to our community,” explained Hercules.  “COVID-19 has forced us to cancel many of our traditional Christmas activities; we are grateful to Ron Alley and Carpe Artista for creating an alternative opportunity to spread holiday cheer in our community.”

Every aspect of the Holiday @Home broadcast is student led.  “These students have handled all elements of this project,” shared Bissinger.  “From site planning and advancing, content creation, technical preparation, graphic design, and equipment prep and inventory, this broadcast is a result of their effort.  It is a tremendous opportunity for students to gain experience in the audio-visual career pathway.”

Under the direction of Ron Alley, Carpe Artista has created a program featuring local musicians who will showcase their talent and help our community celebrate this Holiday Season.  Music will be provided by Tina Soloman, Paul Scott, Wildfire Trio, Cindy Ellis, Declas McGarry, J.T. Cooper, Jason Lee McKinney, and will culminate with a very special performance by Santa and Mrs. Claus!
