The Rutherford County Fire and Rescue Department has placed a burn ban in effect on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018.

The burn ban is in effect due to high winds and low humidity in the area.
Burn permits are free and required by law from October 15th through May 15th, 2018. They are only issued when the area conditions are safe for burning.

The Rutherford County Fire and Rescue Department requests that even residents with burn permits still check with the municipality before burning to ensure that there are no restrictions in effect at that time.

In order to receive a burn permit, you must call the Department of Agriculture and Forestry at 1-877-350-2876.

You can receive local information by contacting the department at (615) 867-4626 or visit their website at http://firerescue.rutherfordcountytn.gov/
