‘Boro Man Leads FPD On Car Chase

car chaseA Murfreesboro man is facing felony charges after fleeing from police, in a car chase in Franklin. At 6:45 Saturday morning, an officer clocked 45-year-old Myles Cumberbatch driving 77 in a 55 MPH zone, on Mack Hatcher near Hillsboro Road. The officer was unable to immediately catch up to Cumberbatch, but encountered him a second time when Cumberbatch was driving 57 in a 35 MPH zone, in front of Franklin High School on Hillsboro Road.

Cumberbatch recklessly evaded the officer, but not before the officer got his license plate number. Rutherford County Deputies took Cumberbatch into custody at his Murfreesboro home a short time later, and turned him over to Franklin Police. Franklin Police charged Cumberbatch with Felony Evading, Felony Reckless Endangerment with a Deadly Weapon, Felony Reckless Driving, Speeding, and Running a Red Light. Cumberbatch is free on the $5,500 bond that was set by the Magistrate; he is due in court 04/14/2016 at 1pm.
