boro-international-flyerThe entire Murfreesboro community is invited to celebrate the growth, diversity and culture of our city at ‘Boro International Festival on September 10, 2016. The family friendly event offers free admission and activities for all ages. Visitors are invited to enjoy food, music, cultural displays, games, vendor booths and art that display the rich diversity of Murfreesboro and our surrounding community.

Festivities will begin at 10 am with a Children’s Parade of Flags and a community sing-along of “We Are The World.” Attendees will be entertained throughout the festival by an array of performers from across the globe and an international fashion show featuring models dressed in traditional garb.

“We are so excited to bring this event to our community,” stated Reeves-Rogers ESL Teacher, Tena Bailey. “Our committee is made up of people from all different backgrounds who wanted to work together to share the rich diversity that lives within Murfreesboro,” said Bailey.

Cultural booths will offer an array of interactive exhibits and historical items unique to the cultures represented at the festival. Dozens of craft merchants and food vendors will offer an assortment of items for sale and children will be able to play international games and make crafts in the children’s game area.

Groups from China, Thailand, Laos, India, Iran, Panama, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Mexico, Norway, Peru, Ecuador, Italy and South Sudan will be represented during the festival. Booth applications are still being accepted and can be obtained by contacting Tena Bailey at [email protected].
