Basketball: Blackman Beats Siegel to Become District Champions

Final Score: 40-38

The Blaze win the 7-AAAA district tournament over Siegel as both teams will move on to the regional tournament.

This was a very physical game with a lot of turnovers and lead changes. Isaiah Divens hit a shot with 3 seconds left in the game to give Blackman a 2 point lead. The junior guard lead his team with 14 points. He was also named to the All-District team.

The Stars were lead by Trevon Bass who scored a game high 21 points. He knocked down 3 three pointers. Bass was also named the district MVP of the regular season.

Blackman’s head coach Barry Wortman was also voted as the district coach of the year.

Both teams will play at Stewarts Creek this Saturday with hopes of advancing one step closer to the State Tournament.
