The Stewarts Creek Red Hawks took the District 7-AAA baseball tournament title, besting regular season champion Blackman in the title game, 3-1, Wednesday night.
The Red Hawks rode the pitching of Maddox Vondohlen, who allowed just five hits in going the distance for Stewarts Creek, which improved to 28-7 on the season and will host the District 8-AAA runner-up next week in region play.
Blackman battled back through the losers bracket and will now travel in the Region 4-AAA Tournament next week to face the winner of District 8-AAA. The Blaze avenged an earlier tournament loss to Riverdale with a 3-1 victory Wednesday before falling to Stewarts Creek in the title game.
Derrick Junker had two hits and scored a run for Blackman in the win over the Warriors.
In District 9-A, Eagleville split two games with Forrest, forcing a second game for the championship with an 11-10 win before falling 6-3 in the second game for the title. Kade Herndon and Isaac Gleaves both homered for Eagleville in that win.
The Eagles (18-16) are the second seed from District 9-A and will travel in the Region 5-A Tournament to face the District 10-A tournament winner.
