After losing their first game of the tournament, the Oakland Patriots have come roaring back through the losers bracket, taking a pair of wins Monday to advance.
The Patriots, now back to. 500 for the season at 17-17, eliminated LaVergne with a 7-3 win, and then topped defending Class AAA state champion Siegel, 5-4, in 10 innings to set up a game today against regular-season district champion Blackman in another elimination game.
In the winners bracket, Riverdale is scheduled to take on Stewarts Creek today.
In other Rutherford County action, Central Magnet downed Upperman, 8-2 in District 8-
AA, while Eagleville fell to Forrest, 5-4, in District 9-A play.
Also in District 9-A, Middle Tennessee Christian used a complete game shutout from Zach Stephens to defeat Community, 8-0.
