Rutherford Heart Walk Announces WKRN’s Hayley Wielgus as Emcee

The American Heart Association’s Rutherford Heart Walk, set for September 22, 2018 at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic, will be emceed by News 2, WKRN-TV’s evening co-anchor Hayley Wielgus. Thousands of Rutherford County residents are expected to come together to raise funds to combat cardiovascular diseases and stroke at this family friendly, heartening event.

“Heart health is something that affects every single one of us, so I’m excited to help spread that message at this year’s Rutherford Heart Walk,” states Wielgus. “Cardiovascular Disease is the number one killer of women, but there is so much we can do to reduce our risk of heart attack and stroke. I’m a big advocate for making fitness part of your heart-healthy lifestyle and that can start with something as simple as a walk. So come walk with us!”

Rutherford’s Heart Walk, sponsored by Vanderbilt Heart, begins at 8:00am with the walk at 9:00am Murfreesboro Medical Clinic. Individuals, teams and companies can sign up in advance at RutherfordHeartWalk.org for the non-competitive, three-mile walk. The event includes family friendly activities, fun fitness demonstrations, health screenings, CPR training, live music, a Top Dog contest and an exciting Kids Zone.
