Smyrna Christmas Parade

Along Lowry Street in the Depot District, folks of all ages will gather in anticipation of the arrival of floats, bands, classic cars, dancers and, of course, Santa Claus as they travel northbound on Lowry Street toward Sam Ridley Parkway. This year’s theme is “A Tennessee Christmas.”

The parade begins at Veterans Memorial Park, located at 115 Floyd Mayfield Drive, and winds down to City Hall. There will be hot chocolate, carolers performing holiday songs, and it will end with a visit by Mr. and Mrs. Claus, the tree lighting ceremony topped off by a free fireworks display.

17th Annual Hotcakes and Holly Fundraiser

Rotary Club of Murfreesboro presents its 17th annual fundraiser breakfast benefitting local literacy programs. Included within the ticket price will be live entertainment and photos with Santa. 36th Annual Christmas Candlelight Tour of Homes

Senior Judge Don Ash, long active in the non-profit community, will be the Grand Marshall of this year’s parade themed, “The Sounds of Christmas.” As in years past, the parade will start near the Middle Tennessee Boulevard / East Main Street intersection and head west towards the historic Rutherford County Square. It is a joyous event every year sponsored by The Good Neighbor Station, WGNS radio.

An evening filled with classical Christmas songs from the Tennessee Philharmonic that will be loved by the entire family. The symphony was begun in 1981 by Dr. Laurence Harvin, and has delighted the community with a full complement of concerts every year. It was formerly known and the Murfreesboro Orchestra. More here.
