Two Things That Go Together: Chocolate Hike

Come out and hike for chocolate! Early spring can still be cool, but it’s worth a hike when chocolate is involved. Learn about sustainable chocolate practices and how important it is for our migratory birds. First enjoy a naturalist-led hike on our backcountry trails as we discover several TN birds that need good habitat in Central America so they can return to us. Follow Flute, a wood thrush, on the story trail and finally end at a warm fire where hot chocolate and all the chocolaty treats you can handle will be waiting. Partake in a game to see if you will survive as a migratory bird. Warm up and refuel – just like our bird friends – before hiking back to the Wilderness Station on the paved trails. 2 ½ mile total length hike. Reservation required. For ages 8 and up.
