Jacob Jones tossed a three-hit shutout as the Blackman Blaze topped Stewarts Creek, 6-0, Wednesday to win the Region 4-AAA baseball championship.

The Blaze (27-10) avenged a loss to the Red Hawks (29-8) in the District 7-AAA finals.

While Jones was in control on the mound, Peyton Milam provided a large chunk of the offense, delivering four hits in five at-bats. Milan had two doubles and drove in two runs for Blackman. Zavien Lindsey also drove in a pair of runs for the Blaze.

Stewarts Creek, which played while the school’s graduation ceremony was going on at MTSU, had a ceremony for the players to receive their diplomas following the game.

Blackman will host Walker Valley in the sectionals on Friday, while Stewarts Creek will now travel to face Ooltewah on Friday.

In Region 4-AA play, Central Magnet brought home the championship, taking an 11-9 slugfest at Signal Mountain on Wednesday.

Dylan Jenkins, Wes Duffield, Joey Hughes and Hayden Locum had two hits apiece for the Tigers, who improved to 29-11 and will face off Friday at home against Chattanooga Central.
Patrick Norman picked up the win in relief for Central Magnet..

In Region 5-A, Eagleville was bested by Forrest, 12-1, sending the Eagles to Loretto on Friday in sectional play.
