As the Predators continue the road to the Stanley Cup, it was a catfish that became the talk of the game.

Local Nolensville resident Jacob Waddell has received a lot of attention for his tossing of the catfish onto the ice in Pittsburgh during Game One.

From getting tossed out of the game to the charges of disorderly conduct, disrupting a meeting and possessing instruments of a crime.

Nesting Project in Nolensville wanted to assist Jake with legal fees or donate to a charity of his choice. They came up with the idea to create a t-shirt in honor of their neighbor.

Co-owned by Corinne Morse and Kelly Williamson, they placed a message on the Nolensville 411 Facebook page.

Morse said, ” There are a lot of Predators fans in Nolensville community, then we learned that Jake Waddell lived in Nolensville, so we wanted to help.”

They received an overwhelming response to that post. In addition, Morse says they received phone calls and texts about ideas for the t-shirts.

Wednesday morning, Williams and Morse, along with their staff, narrowed down all of their suggestions and ideas to four.

“We kept playing around with the wording and finally decided on one,” said Morse.

“We call him Catfish Jake now, ” says Morse.

The first official shirt came off the press on Wednesday afternoon and was given to Catfish Jake, his wife came by the store to pick up the shirt for Jake.

Nesting Project is accepting presales on the t-shirt. Sizes range from adult – infant and they hope to have them in the store by Thursday.

A to Z Sports reports that the charges against Jake Waddell have been dropped. Morse says in light of that news they will give all of the money raised from the #catfishJake shirts to the local charity Nolensville Round-Up.
