The Zoo opened its Grassmere location on May 1, 1997.

Nashville Zoo is celebrating its 20th anniversary at the Grassmere property! 2017 is going to be a big year for the Zoo as we open multiple exhibits. Were you here for the opening of Kangaroo Kickabout, the Giraffe Savannah, or the original Entry Village? Take a look back at some of our biggest moments from the last 20 years!

Avian Awareness Day is May 7!

Fly by the Zoo between 10am – 3pm
Avian Awareness Day highlights the journey of migratory birds as they make passage between their breeding grounds in North America and their wintering grounds in Central and South America. Zoo guests can participate in activities that focus on the importance of birds, avian conservation projects and how you can help birds in your own backyard.

Rockin’ for Rhinos is May 11!

Join us for a unqiue conservation concert.
Join Nashville Zoo for its second annual Rockin’ for Rhinos Conservation Conert, presented by the Nashville AAZK chapter, on May 11 at Mercy Lounge. Enjoy live music and learn about AAZK’s conservation programs taking place in zoos around the country and around the world. This event will benefit the conservation of all five endangered rhinoceros species, two of which have less than 100 individuals left in the wild.

You’re Invited: Brew at the Zoo

Join us on Friday, June 2!
Nashville Zoo welcomes all species of beer lovers to the fifth annual Brew at the Zoo happening on June 2 from 6:30pm to 11pm. Animals, live music, local food trucks and 100 craft beers are on tap at this unique after-hours event voted the Best Beer Event in Nashville by Nashville Scene readers in 2014 and 2016.
