There is a minimal chance of severe weather this afternoon, as a front brings much cooler weather on the heels of a record breaking week of heat.

On Wednesday, a new high record of 90 was recorded. An aproaching front will trigger showers and thunderstorms ahead of a cold front. The main event is due to arrive around drive time from 3-6 p.m. this afternoon. Expect some heavy downpours and a slight possibility of hail. The biggest threat will be gusty winds. Some storms may be strong to severe.

After the front passes temps decrease dramatically . Highs in the lower to mid 60s are forecast for Friday and Saturday with lows in the mid 40s. Good news is it will be dry to enjoy fall events . However it will be windy with gusts of 20-25 mph expected both days.

We will monitor situations on our Live weather radar all day and keep you informed.
