It’s a Big Weekend for Blue Raiders fans a the Rites of Spring get into full swing and hoops take center stage as the Madness approaches. Here’s what’s happening this weekend in Blue Raider Country!

RITES OF SPRING: MTSU Blue Raider Baseball Season Begins

It’s this writer’s favorite time of year. Smell of leather and the crack of the bat. MTSU baseball opens at home against a formidable opponent in Indiana University. Led by Pre-Season Conference All American Brad Jarreau,  the Blue Raiders are picked to finish 7th in Conference USA, it will be difficult to argue that the Raiders will be prepared. Their non conference schedule includes Indiana, a strong Mule Mix Classic field, and Memphis. First pitch is at 3:00 p.m. For full schedule click here.

Let The Conference Madness Begin !

It’s almost time for conference tourneys, but there is a lot on the line this weekend for the men and women Blue Raider hoopsters . The Lady Blue Raiders travel to UAB looking for their 9th straight win and to stay in the race for the Conference USA Championship. Brea Edwards will be looking for her 5th Conference USA player of the week award. Focus will be the key as the Lady Raiders can’t be caught looking ahead to a matchup with WKU on the 25th.

Meanwhile the Blue Raider men have their own quandry. Winners of 4 of their last 5 games, the Blue Raiders will look to take first place against visiting UAB. UAB has also won 4 of their last 5. Game is at 5:00 on CBSSN and the Murph is looking for a sold out crowd.

Blue Raiders Softball Looks To Bounce Back

The Blue Raiders Softball Team looks to bounce back from a 2-3 start in Florida last week. They open up the Black and Gold Tournament today at noon in Montgomery, Alabama.

Tennis Teams Rocking Opponents

The MTSU Tennis Teams are making noise of their own. The men’s team is ITA ranked for the first time since 2014 Ranked at #71. They are supporting a 7-2 record overall, including a 2-1 record over ranked opponents and a 6-1 mark at home.They will host Sewanee and Illinois State Saturday.

The women are also making their own news. Coming off 3 wins on the road, the Lady Blue Raiders will look to continue their winning ways on Friday against UT-Martin at home. Then Saturday morning they host undefeated ETSU .
